Jónsi stopped by the Jo Wiley Show on BBC Radio 1 this past weekend, where he was nice enough to grace us with this in studio cover of “Time To Pretend” by MGMT. With just a piano to accompany him, Jónsi’s falsetto soars and the end result is gorgeous.

Jónsi’s debut solo album, Go, is due out April 6th via XL Recordings.

If you haven’t heard that Jónsi plans to release a solo album by this point, you must have been in a coma for the past several months. In addition to the Go LP due out April 6th, the Sigur Rós member plans to release the Go Do EP on March 23rd (both releases through XL Recordings).

Even more recently, a video was released for “Go Do,” which can be seen after the jump.

Jónsi‘s debut album Go is due out the week of April 5th, and the first North American dates in support of the album have been announced. Most stops on the tour consist of double performances, and such is the case with Boston with shows on May 5th and 6th at the House of Blues. Simply fantastic. Check out all the tour dates after the jump.

Jónsi, of Sigur Rós fame, will release his solo debut, titled Go, on March 23rd via XL Recordings. While Jónsi may be known for singing in a mix of Icelandic and Hopelandic, most of the nine songs on Go are sung in English. The full track listing can be seen after the jump, and “Boy Lilikoi,” the first sampling from the ablum, can be listened to below. In order to download the song though, you’ll have to sign up for Jónsi’s mailing list here.
